news and views. i'm natasha curry. i hope you're doing well this sunday. bp said it's taking a major step in attempt to stop major oil spill. it has succeeded in feeding back to the leaking well anding in nears worked through the night to put the tube through the broken pipe spewing and stopping about 85% of the oil going into the gulf. >> we're making good progress with this riser insertion tool. if we come up with another one, we will do that. if we believe it will capture more flow, we will do that. what we're planning on is do our top kill procedure in a week to ten days. that will ultimately shut off the flow and kill the well at that time. >> fishing boats are helping contain the leak by deploying oil skimmers and booms.

musicians are planning a benefit concert for the fishing industry in new orleans today. sarah palin is jumping into the battle over arizona's new immigration law. yesterday, she appeared with arizona's governor, jan brewer to denounce president obama's criticism of the law and they also slammed boycotts to arizona and the law requires immigrants to carry their immigration data and requires them to release the data if they're stopped for another reason. the critics say it will lead to profiling but she says the law makes sure that won't happen. >> it's time for people to stand across this great country and say, we're all arizonians now and in unity say, mr. president, do your job, secure our border. >> our purpose today, is to help the rest of the nation confront the crisis which confronts our

state. our nation's border is broken. it is being erased and the president considers it a wonderful opportunity to divide people along racial lines for his personal political convenience. >> while palin and brewer were defending arizona's immigration law, some people got together in phoenix to protest it and show support for latinos in arizona. a group from texas called freedom buzz riders joined others in a rally against the new law. and phoenix is one of many stops their making around arizona. fighter jets stopped an international flight because it reportedly had a bomb on it. someone made that threat over the phone upon them leaving hong kong. and two fighter jets scrambled to get them to the airport. they didn't find any indication there was a bomb on the plane. >> the security personnel were kind enough to keep the stress levels down, but i guess all of

would do things much, much differently. >> she didn't say why she did this, but her attorney said there is a serious security problem at the houston charter school, where this all happened. the student, because of this, had a black eye and some other bruises. his mother has filed a lawsuit against davis and the school. >> a new witness is emerging in the case against former football player and dancing with the stars contestant lawrence taylor. the so-called witness said he did not have sex with an underage prostitute. >> taylor's attorney confirms the report the witness said she went to a suburban hotel along benefit the 16-year-old girl and the man accused of being her pimp to meet lawrence taylor. the woman who has not been identified said she waited with rasheed davis in the car while the 16-year-old went into the hotel. she says the girl came out 45 minutes later and told her taylor had given her $300 but did not have sex with her. the woman says the 16-year-old

girl claimed taylor rubbed himself against her. according to the witness, the girl describes her encounter with taylor as weird. taylor's attorney has repeatedly denied the ex-football player had sex with the girl. taylor is charged with third degree rape and patronizing a prostitute. >> so, here's one more twist to follow as the story develops. funeral preparations on the way when a giant sinkhole swallow up a house monday. their funeral service will be held next saturday. the were in the basement watching tv when a landslide opened up this sinkhole. the hole near montreal was four times a football field and the roof of the house was only visible. rescuers strug forring a day digging with their bare hands to try and reach the family but

"showbiz tonight" a.j. hammer is calling it what some people call too sexy too soon. >> is that unsettling video that is causing massive outrage. 8 and 9-year-old girls in skimpy costumes dancing seductively to be on this. some say perhaps it should be called "single babies." the girls were competing in the world of dance in urban dance competition. some of the parents of these five young girls spoke out today for the very first time since the outrage began and they are defending their kids' sexy dance routine. >> they weren't performing this for a world-wide audience. it's been taken out of context. >> reporter: on "good morning america," they said people need to chill out and put it in perspective. >> when they're going swimming, they put on a bathing suit. these people are going to a dance competition and wearing

for her children. tanya craft broke down in court after being found not guilty on all 22 charges last week. she was arrested two years ago and was fired from her job as a teacher in georgia after being accused of molesting three girls. she also lost custody of her children who were sent to live with her ex-husband. despite the verdict, craft said she doesn't feel like a winner. >> i thank god and my mom and my dad. this can be restoration and there can be awareness for others to not go through this. but there's two birthdays for my daughter that i'll never get back and there's no winners, even all the children involved in this, there's no winners. >> craft's attorneys have filed a motion to regain custody of her son and daughter. her ex-husband's attorney says he wants to keep the kids. cnn reporters in thailand says a huge gun battle broke out in the capital city where thousands of anti-government protesters are gathered.

the last thing a pregnant houston area woman says she remembers is giving birth. but she woke up in the hospital without any arms or legs. she didn't realize she had a strep infection that was eating away at her body. it had infected her muscles, fat and skin tissue. while she was unconscious during her february delivery, her husband had to make that agonizing decision to amputate all of her limb in order to save her life. >> i decided i loved her so much, the risk was worth it. if we came out, i had to spend a lifetime taking care of it, the risk was worth it to say i did not give up on her? >> it's miracle i'm alive. i'm so grateful. i'm so grateful. i wouldn't be here for my kids if they hadn't taken the arms and legs. >> can you imagine? katie says she is determined to walk some day, maybe at the same time as her new baby girl.
